She was born some several decades ago as The Church on Studebaker
Road. She spent the majority of her youth on Studebaker Road in Norwalk,
CA. She had her up’s and down’s but she continued to chug ahead. There
was a time when she thought that she couldn’t do it anymore but a couple
from South Africa came to rescue her.
Terry and Sandy Kreuger came to Norwalk, CA in May of 2000 to take over The
Church on Studebaker Road. They immediately felt that they needed to
change her name to River Church International, to close one chapter and
begin a new one. The new chapter began as they nurtured her back to
strength, back to the church that they felt God had called her to be.
During the time in Norwalk God did amazing and wonderful things with River
Church. In this, we saw many people come to know Christ as their personal
Lord and Savior. We have seen a number of churches planted out of River
Church International, i.e. Steve and Deb in Chicago, Andrew and Sue in
Denver and Adam and Van in Ensenada, Mexico. Her people have been very
generous and have sowed into many different nations. Through her
generosity, many nations have been impacted and many lives have been
touched.
In September of 2005, she moved from a one-community church, to a multi-
community church with the vision of being a church that can reach the whole
of LA.
